Anthurium Crystallinum Care

The Anthurium Crystallinum, also known as the crystal anthurium, is a stunning houseplant due to its oversize, heart-shaped leaves and unique appearance. However, it requires some specific care to thrive. Here are some tips to help keep your Crystallinum happy:

Light

The Anthurium Crystallinum prefers bright, indirect light. It should be placed near a window with filtered sunlight or in a well-lit room without direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.

Watering

It's important to keep the soil of the Crystallinum moist, but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Water less frequently during the winter months when the plant is in its dormant phase.

Humidity

Anthuriums thrive in high humidity environments. Mist the leaves regularly or place a humidifier nearby to keep the air moist. You can also place a tray of water near the plant to increase humidity. You might even consider a dedicated glass cabinet in order to help provide an optimal environment.

Fertilizer

Fertilize the Anthurium Crystallinum every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Do not fertilize during the dormant winter months.

Propagation

Anthuriums can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take a stem cutting with a few leaves and place it in water or moist soil. Keep the soil moist and wait for new growth to appear.

Potting

Repot your Crystallinum every 2-3 years or when the plant has outgrown its current pot. Use a well-draining potting mix and choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one.

With proper care, the Anthurium Crystallinum can be a beautiful addition to any indoor space.
